Section 1: Environmental pollution and solutions

Evaluation of the current state and search for solutions to the problem of environmental pollution (soil, water, and air) caused by persistent toxic compounds, radioactive materials, or agents that have a negative impact on the environment and contribute to human diseases.

Section 2: Waste management (Reduction-Recycling-Reuse).

Prevention of waste or "source reduction." Exploration of durable materials that are largely free of toxic substances; product design modifications aimed at reducing raw material use, extending product lifespan, or facilitating reuse after initial use.

Section 3: Alternative energy sources

Seeking practical solutions to global energy challenges and identifying technologies that can sustain global resilience. Transitioning from fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas), which currently account for the majority of emissions, to renewable energy sources (solar, wind, water, and biomass) is key to addressing the climate crisis.

Section 4: Business and technology

Startups and business projects, as well as innovative inventions aimed at addressing existing environmental pollution problems and/or reducing its negative impact, along with the development of new technologies.

Forum Regulations

Dear participants, guests and colleagues!

Welcome to the International Scientific Forum "Shoqan Ecology". This forum is more than just an event; it represents our dedication to scientific development and environmental stewardship. This is our contribution to the development of a new generation of scholars, entrepreneurs, and leaders who can change the world for the better.

“Shoqan Ecology” gathers young scientists from Kazakhstan and throughout the world. And I genuinely feel that each of you is not only a participant, but a true change agent, offering fresh ideas, answers, and a vision for the future of the environment.

Today, you have a unique opportunity to not only present your scientific projects and business startups, but also to share your perspective on environmental issues with the same young and energetic like-minded people. Your work will be evaluated by a highly qualified and independent jury whose guiding values are academic honesty, impartiality, and respect. This implies that you will individually receive objective feedback and be able to improve your ideas in an environment of open communication and financial support.

It is important for us, as organizers, and for me personally, as an ecologist, to create a platform where young talents can bravely dream, create, and bring their ideas to life. We believe that your energy and desire for knowledge will allow you to realize the most daring ideas and offer solutions that can change the future of ecology at the regional, national, and international levels.

I am truly proud that our school initiated and organized this forum. We strive not only to provide knowledge but also to raise a generation of thinking, creative, and ambitious young people who are prepared to take on responsibility and contribute meaningfully to societal growth.

“Shoqan Ecology” is a place where inventions emerge, connections are strengthened, and the groundwork for great accomplishments is created.

International Scientific Forum "Shoqan Ecology Junior" Grades 3-7

Dates of the event: April 26-27, 2025
Registration until March 1, 2025

Section 1: Plants – the green heroes of our planet.

Research dedicated to the diversity, conservation, and restoration of plant life. Participants can study the impact of pollution and climate change on plants, develop methods for protecting and restoring flora, or work on practical solutions such as creating green spaces or studying rare plant species. Projects may be theoretical, experimental, or focused on practical applications.

Section 2: The animal world.

Projects focused on studying and protecting animals and their habitats. Participants can explore the impact of human activities on fauna, develop methods to protect endangered species, or propose technologies for monitoring and safeguarding animals. Contributions aimed at preserving biodiversity and ensuring ecosystem sustainability are highly encouraged in this section.

Section 3: Humans and ecology.

Research on the relationship between environmental conditions and human health. Participants can investigate the effects of air, water, and food pollution on health, propose solutions to improve urban ecology, or suggest ways to prevent environmentally induced diseases. This section welcomes both theoretical studies and scientific-practical projects utilizing innovative approaches to enhance quality of life.

Section 4: Earth’s elements-the amazing forces of nature.

Projects dedicated to physical processes in nature and their impact on plant life. Participants can study the effects of solar radiation, weather conditions, or mechanical processes on plants, and develop technologies for plant care and protection. This section accepts experimental research and scientific-practical developments, such as innovative irrigation methods or solutions for safeguarding plants against adverse conditions.

What is Shoqan Ecology?

Shoqan Ecology is an international scientific forum for young researchers!

This forum offers students a unique opportunity to present their scientific projects and eco-focused business startups to a community of like-minded young scientists. All submissions are evaluated by an independent and highly qualified panel of judges, ensuring fairness and academic integrity.

Shoqan Ecology is a space for creative and scientific growth, where talent, innovation, and a commitment to solving ecological challenges are celebrated!

Goals

  • Spark children’s interest in scientific research and discovery;
  • Encourage students to engage in research activities;
  • Develop research skills;
  • Unlock intellectual and creative potential;
  • Promote independent inquiry and identify talented students.

Mission

To create a platform where young scientists can showcase their research and entrepreneurial talents, offering innovative solutions to environmental challenges and contributing to sustainable development.
